My father worked at so called area 51 in the late seventies and early eighties. He said Bob Lazar was picked-up from Los Alamos. Los Alamos, having about the same security levels as the Groom Lake compound, couldn't tell them anything about Bob or what exactly he did for them except that he was a physicist and did indeed work for them during the time period he stated. When Lazar came into the Groom Lake compound he was slowly seen as lazy, inept, and catty. After several demotions (from physicist to number cruncher/gopher) he started acting even less agreable and was on his way out the door when he was busted bringing civilians into a restricted area. He was then brought in front of a panel and more info about him was granted from Los Alamos in regards to the investigation about his breach of peramiters. In this investigation they discovered when he applied for work at Groom Lake he was on thin-ice with the staff at Los Alamos and was hoping that the security levels around his position would allow him to hop to another group before he was canned. It worked, but Bob stayed Bob and just after he was fired it was determined that his breach shouldn't usher in criminal penalties and that his level of clearence and experience there didnt make him a big security risk. About a week after he was fired he showed up on Las Vegas talk radio then Coast to Coast, also in Nevada, and the rest is tin-foil hate history. Sour grapes, not aliens.
