		<description>No, divorce, even for Christians, was not a product of the Protestant Reformation, which simply reinstated a basic legal provision. 

Ireland had many guidelines and legal provisions for divorce, for both sexes, under the Brehon Law system. Along with married clergy, and long before Rome began to phase in clerical celibacy and substitute papal annulments. 

The Celtic church sent delegates to Rome and abroad to protest the Roman decisions on many points. LOL, there&#039;s nothing so fresh as old news : )</description>
