New Window Phone Concept

I don’t know about your city, but the weather bureau of my hometown is often sniggered at, for their in-accurate predictions. When they say it will rain (like they predicted a couple of days ago) you can be sure it will be bright and sunny. I would like to gift them this “Window Phone”, that makes accurate predictions and even changes its display to reflect the climatic conditions outdoors. Maybe I should keep the phone for myself and bug the bureau with my updates.

Well, my cousin is demonstrating how to make dessert pizza at her store this week, so I had to produce a leaflet detailing dessert pizza recipes. He had a dessert pizza somewhere, once, and wanted to replicate it. She described it to me and left me with the job of translating it into a recipe. This is basically what she told me she would make: a banana caramel pizza. And she wants to make it by using ready made mini-pizza bases. Spread caramel on the base, then top with banana slices and pieces of chocolate, and then bake until the chocolate melts. I have to admit, this sounds really quite heavenly. Is your mouth watering yet?

This house is actually like Lego.Slabs for construction rely on each other in a checkerboard pattern, and in the spaces that have been formed, the plan should be a small terrace.To be honest, quite a good idea to save space.

It’s Nothing a Camouflage Can’t Hide

What you see in the pictures is probably one of the best large scale camouflages ever attempted. In order to protect the Lockheed Burbank Aircraft Plant from air attacks, there was a nee to hide it which is no easy job. So it was covered in netting which made it look like a rural setting when seen from air. Even though this was done a long time ago, the ingenuity and imagination required for the project is still talked about.

These pictures you see were taken in 1940s by the Army Corps of Engineers from US. The netting went over most buildings and had tree like structures on top too, under which there was normal activity all hidden from the outside eyes. As Lockheed was a large center of military aircraft manufacture. It was also an active base for P-38 fighters. They could not afford to lose it to an air attack for which Japan was feared for.

If you let your imagination run wild and think how a house of a steam fanatic would look like, this would be what you will see. The clock looks like a pressure gauge; the entertainment center looks ancient too, etc. Well that is what this house looks like. Somehow steam engines take you back in time to a period where the phones look antique, the typewriter is heavy and there are stuffed animals kept as showpieces.

The house in the picture looks like it’s a page from history with things that make you realize how much has changed since. The cylindrical water dispenser makes you fall in love with it as will the small bowls for the dogs that stay in place. The slanting roof and the thermometer clock makes you feel like you are on a ship. I would love coming back to this cozy, made up house everyday.

Biggest Santa Ever in Flames

At 50 feet, this is probably the largest Santa you have ever seen. It’s a pity it got burnt down at the end. A lot of people traveled far to get a picture with it but it went up in flames covering the surrounding area in thick black smoke. This happened in Brazil on December 2, 2009 and it is assumed to be because of some mechanical error although some people speculate foul play. The pictures do make you feel sad about all the efforts going up in flames.

The giant display caught fire during its unveiling. The Santa was well made and placed in an open area surrounded by buildings. Santa getting burned down is probably something you don’t want your children to witness. Once the entire Santa got burned down, all that remained was the metal skeleton. Guess we should just be glad that nobody was hurt during the incident.
