Good article, but some fact checking is in …

Comment posted The 10 most dangerous animals in the world by Raised in the Tropics.

Good article, but some fact checking is in order:

The Siberian tiger is the largest big cat: 300 kg vs. 250 kg for a lion (my brother works at a big cat rescue center, and you can google/wiki it).

There’s no such thing as a “North American Crocodile”. North America has alligators which are much more timid than crocs. As a 8 yo child I would run them off the banks of creeks/rivers (by waving my arms and yelling) to clear a spot to fish from. While very dangerous if provoked, they just want to be left alone.

The American Crocodile lives in Central & South America (plus a tiny population in S. Florida). It’s more dangerous that an alligator, but shy relative to Old World crocs. Australian salties & Nile crocs are the truly nasty ones. Waving your arms and yelling at them just says “eat me”!

    #1 – HUMAN

  2. IN VIETNAM A MUCH MORE POISONOUS SNAKE THATS 12 INCHES LONG GREEN AND SWIMS IN SALTWATER IS MORE POISONOUS THAN THE COBRA. I DONT KNOW THE NAME OF IT.

  3. Hangs out in: North America, Canada, North Pole, Russia and isolated pockets around the world.

Last time I checked Canada was part of North America, the biggest part actually.

I really like this article very interesting and educational.

Makes perfect sense, yet I would still feel more threatened if a tiger were to land on my arm than if a mosquito did.

I don’t think you have the numbers right, altough a good list, its missing things like horses or donkeys. I think more people get killed by donkeys every year than by any other mamal.

Glad someone else noticed that bears apparently hang out in both Canada and NA :: sigh ::

People noticed the North America/Canada thing but didn’t pick up the North Pole? the only animal you’ll find at the North Pole is humans.
And definitely number one is Humans, bees kill thousands and horses are right up there too. I’m thinking this article’s title should have said “Wild” animals but anyway there are so many inaccuracies in this list if I were the publisher I would either remove it or fact check it. The numbers are way off.

You forgot that Aligators are in north America not crocs, and that Australia has the most deadly snakes in the world, yet not mentioned there. We also have the most deadly spiders.
